Six Wins and Counting: Andy Reid Is Tied for Most Victories at Allegiant Stadium, and a Chiefs Win Would Make History in the Raiders’ Own Building
Andy Reid has never coached a home game at Allegiant Stadium, yet he enters Sunday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders tied for the most victories by any head coach in the building’s history. The Chiefs coach sits at six wins, level with former Raiders coaches Josh McDaniels and Antonio Pierce.
A Kansas City victory would give Reid sole possession of the mark in a venue that has belonged to the Raiders since it opened in 2020.Reid’s record at Allegiant stands at 6-1. The total includes the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers in February 2024 as well as results against the Raiders. He has beaten Las Vegas in five of the six meetings played there.
The single loss came in January 2026, when the Raiders edged the Chiefs 14-12 and kept the win totals even heading into this season. Reid and Patrick Mahomes also form the most successful coach-quarterback pairing in the stadium’s short history. The Raiders’ own coaches have not surpassed that figure. Jon Gruden finished 4-7 at Allegiant. Rich Bisaccia went 3-3. McDaniels posted a 6-7 mark during his tenure, and Pierce reached 6-8. Pete Carroll added two wins. Current Raiders coach Klint Kubiak entered the week at 1-0 in the building. Across seven seasons in Las Vegas, no home coach has cleared six victories at the stadium.Reid was asked about the statistic earlier in the week and dismissed it.
“I didn’t know that and I don’t really care,” he said. The numbers still illustrate a sharp contrast: a visiting coach has matched the career home win totals of the coaches who have worked in the building full time, while the Raiders have rotated through multiple regimes without establishing a sustained edge in their own stadium. Both teams arrive undefeated at 3-0, giving the game early weight in the AFC West. Kansas City holds a long historical edge in the series overall. For Reid, the afternoon offers a chance to move from a three-way tie into first place alone, achieved entirely as a road coach in a stadium built for the opponent. The Raiders, meanwhile, can prevent that outcome and keep the record shared while protecting an undefeated start in front of their own crowd.
